Management Level 5 Apprenticeship

What are the aims of this course?

This qualification is designed for project managers, department heads, and other practising middle managers. Develop your skills and experience, improve your performance and prepare for senior management responsibilities.

What are the areas covered by this course?

The Apprenticeship covers the following:

  • 4 mandatory units from Group A (22 credits)
  • Minimum of 23 credits from Group B
  • Maximum of 8 credits from Group C

Mandatory Units:

  • Contribute to the development of a strategic plan
  • Design business processes
  • Manage strategic change
  • Provide leadership and management

Optional Units

The optional knowledge and competence units cover a variety of areas in management, enabling delegates to tailor the course to their own specific career development needs. Please contact us to request further information on the optional pathways available.

What qualifications do I need to do this course?

Potential delegates need to be aged 19+ and employed in a relevant vocational setting in order for them to be able to complete the qualification successfully.

How is the course assessed?

Assessment is normally via practical work-based assignments. This ensures you minimise time away from work and that you undertake work study which is relevant to your own organisation’s context.

What will I be able to go on to do after I've completed this course?

On successful completion of a Level 5 qualification in Management and Leadership, a number of progression opportunities become available:

  • Enhance your professional status by upgrading your CMI membership
  • Progress to other qualifications at the next level (e.g. Level 6 or 7 Certificate)
  • Apply to become a Chartered Manager
What are the career opportunities?

Apprentices with business and administration qualifications will be qualified to work in general administrative roles in many large and small companies both in the private and public sector. Apprentices who have completed their training could also go on to higher education in a college or university.
