What are the aims of this course?
Candidates who wish to work as teachers/trainers in the further education and skills sectors and who have little or no prior experience of planning and delivering learner-led sessions. This course may also be suitable for those considering a career in teaching but would like further guidance.
To provide an insight into the roles, responsibilities and relationships in education and training.
What are the areas covered by this course?
- Understanding Roles, Responsibilities and Relationships in Education and
- Understanding and Using Inclusive Teaching and Learning Approaches in Education and Training
- Understanding the Principles and Practices of Assessment
What qualifications do I need to do this course?
Candidates should have a subject to deliver in mind and ideally have a level 3 qualification in that subject. Alternatively, candidates may already be in a teaching/training role.
All candidates are required to undertake a short written assessment as part of the recruitment process for this course.
How is the course assessed?
Through a portfolio of evidence which demonstrates the learner has met the required assessment criteria. Learners will be expected to apply and show evidence of both theoretical and practical knowledge in their portfolio.
What qualification will I be awarded if I successfully complete the course?
At the end of the programme you will have achieved:
- Highfield Level 3 Award in Education and Training (previously PTLLS) (601/1636/5)
What will I be able to go on to do after I've completed this course?
Learners successfully completing this qualification may wish to progress to further qualifications, such as:
- HABC Level 4 Certificate in Education and Training (QCF)
