What are the aims of this course?
It is aimed at learners looking to further their skills and knowledge and to gain a qualification in Dementia awareness.

- Dementia Awareness
- The person centred approach to the care and support of individuals with dementia
- Understand the factors that can influence communication and interaction with individuals who have dementia
- Understand equality, diversity and inclusion in dementia care
What qualifications do I need to do this course?
There are no prerequisites for this qualification. It is advised that learners have a minimum of Level 1 in literacy or numeracy or equivalent.
This qualification is approved for delivery to the age ranges, 16-18 and 19+.
How is the course assessed?
It will be assessed by your tutor using a portfolio of evidence, practical demonstrations and assignments.
What qualification will I be awarded if I successfully complete the course?
At the end of the programme you will have achieved:
- HABC Level 2 Award in Awareness of Dementia (QCF)

- Level 3 Certificate in Dementia Care
